Are stories are somewhat similar. I am a recovering alcoholic, "sober" since June of 2001. On August 29th, 1992 I had first entered AA at the ripe old age of 29 and remained with both feet firmly planted there until the birth of my second child.

I relapsed for a year, and found the rooms once again.

I had surgery and was prescribed 120 count of Percocet for approximately 6 months, and then cut off cold turkey. All w/d symptoms as you described above. Surely I couldn't go thru that nonsense!

SO my love affair with Oxy's began. Street pills at street prices. After 4 years and tens of thousands of dollars later, I reached my newest bottom.

I found Suboxone and experienced none of the negative side effects that some other sites post. I was extremely grateful to be given a second chance (or third, if you will) at life.

I stayed on the Sub's for 4 years. Getting off was a very slooooooow taper for me.

As of September of 2007 I am completely opiate free. No cravings, needs or desires to head back down that long and darkening path.

Godspeed to you Bob. And I shall remember you tonite as I thank my HP for all the wonderous gifts in my life!

Hugs,

Bob -- I'm sorry you went through such hell after being prescribed OxyContin. I have been working for the past 5-1/2 years at exposing Purdue Pharma for criminally marketing OxyContin. They were found guilty, pled guilty and were sentenced in 2007 for addicting and killing scores of people. Their headquarters office is in Stamford, CT and their telephone # is 203-588-8000. If you are so inclined call them and ask for J. David Haddox and ask him how he could have coined the word "pseudo addiction" and how they convinced physicians that patients weren't addicted to OxyContin, but it was "pseudo addiction." May you continue to do well Bob. My prayers and best wishes go out to you. Just know when they at Purdue Pharma get the opportunity to "talk to Him", I am convinced there will be a special place in hell designated for them.
